The new exhibition starts at this friday.

Today's topick is the paper fans specially made for the coming exhibition.



These gentle colored fans are handmade by Sugiyama Emido
and it will arrive our shops very soon.

You may have seen the orval shape in indigo,
while the round shape is newly added to our collection.

For the round shape, you can choose the sizes small or large.

We have varieties of colors and
they are dyed with the chestnuts and green leaves.

The Japanese washi in pale tone gives the cool and refreshing impression.


You can enjoy the breeze of fan whenever you like.
They would be suitable for the Yukata, a cotton Kimono for summer as well.

The cool touch of linen,

the refreshing breeze from folding fans,

and the cool summer night with fireworks…

The thin, light linen has the cool touch and breathes well.

The rough mesh hat could soften the summer sunlight.

The handmade Japanese paper is colored pale tone with botanical,
and then, artisans make it into the traditional fans.

The pleasant fragrance of mist refreshes you well.

When pouring the salt soda into the glass tumblers,
you may hear the whisper of sparkling.

father's day

June 17 falls on father's day.

We would like to recommend some products as the gift to your father.



Now you can find the Sensu, the folding fan made by Sugiyama Emido.

The same as the previous exhibition 'ao',
they made the special edition for us.

As the upper edge of Sensu is gold colored,
the edge casually glitters when you spread it.

Made of the firm frame and thick Washi,
it's easy to open and close.
This simple form would be the genderless design.


The hand crafted Washi is made near our factory in Yamanashi.
After Mr. Sugiyama colored it
with the chestnut, logwood, pomegranate and indigo,
then other craftsmen in Kyoto take over next processes.

Making a piece of Kyo-Sensu involves many artisans.
Every single specialist takes responsible of each part.

There is the various process like folding, sticking and pasting.


Our original Sensu is on sale attached with cotton silk sack
and the box of paulownia wood.

Perfumed with the eaglewood, the subtle elegant scent would wrap you
when you flap the Sensu.


The gentle colors from botanic also give the cool impression.

We offer the linen handkerchief for the daily use as well.

These are embroidered with initials of evam eva, E and V.

As the linen become more soft through washing and using,
you can enjoy the change of the texture.

Our jiyugaoka shop will be closed during June 13 through 14
for store refurbishment.



* jiyugaoka will open on 14 as usual,
because we have finished repairing just in one day.
